Custom driveshaft is in
I ordered a custom driveshaft a while back and it finally came in. Tomorrow I go pick it up from the UPS office then get it installed saturday along with some ford racing gears.
I'll try to get a dyno run with the new driveshaft to see if it makes any difference in performance. The new driveshaft is about 30% lighter, and much stronger, than the stock one although it's a different design. If I can get in a dyno run on Saturday I'll post the sheet if there is any difference in performance. Some people claim a lighter shaft will put more power to the wheels and some say it will not make any difference so hopefully Saturday I will find out for sure.

It was $385 with shipping. It's supposed to be good to 475 hp. I could have gotten an even stronger one that would have run about $500 but I probably will never have my car up to 475 hp so it'll be plenty strong enough for what I plan on doing with it. It's a steel drive shaft but weighs a good bit less than the stock one which is good.

It's a direct bolt on with no other mods necessary. It was a place in Texas called Driveshaft Specialists. They are pretty friendly and helpful. I'll find out Saturday if they really know their stuff or not when it gets installed. Yes, Excessive is going to do the install. They do make aluminum driveshafts but I didn't inquire about them.

Hey vb, keep us posted on how the install goes. These guys are in San Antonio and I'm in Houston, if all goes well I might drive over and pick myself up an aluminum shaft.
Thanks
