Tune needed for 5-speed manual...
I've got an 2006 V6 Premium Pony with a 5-sp manual. Most of the threads about tunes are from people with autos. I understand that a tune can change shift rpms, etc for them, but what would a tune do for a stock 5-speed? At what point would I need to do a new tune ?

You notice how your engine chokes after 2700 rpms in first gear? That's called "torque limiting software" so that whitev6er doesn't wrap himself around a telephone pole. YOu can tune that away and run a better tune to squeeze out a little more power. If you tune for higher octane fuel then you pick up even more ponies.

I got about 10 pony's to both HP an TQ with a good SCT tune. All I have is a CAI and dual exhaust with x pipe and I run 213hp and 242tq. But I had my car tuned on a dyno, I didn't load a canned tune. The manuals benifit well over the auto's.

Huge, huge difference between stokc and tuned throttle response. For anyone who's ever driven an e46 m3 with sports mode on, that to me is the perfect example of a zero throttle lag vehicle.
