why don't you park your cars on the side of the street in front of your house, stand at your own respective front doors, and have someone yell go, and you both see who can run inside the fastest and turn on the microwave.
Or you can see who's oven preheats to 450 degrees the fastes...

My second race at the track was against a Cobra of that era... it sure was pretty seein' that thing sail away down the track!
If you race, just do it for ***** and giggles. It'll be a fun experience.
