Burned a hole in my under-the-hood-cover-thing?
Yeah so every time I open my hood I can't help but notice this hole that got burned into the under-the-hood-cover thing (I'm sorry, is there a word for that??). It's about the size of a quarter, right above where the engine block is. Is that wierd?
I'm not planning on turning this into a showcar or anything so it doesn't bother me THAT much, but it sticks out like a sore thumb every time I pop the hood. Has this happened to anyone else??
Here are some (camera phone) pics:

Its mainly there for sound deadening, I just tore mine off as it helps reduce underhood temps. Lower underhood temps = cooler intake charge = more power. I believe its called a hood lining.

the 2 round areas on the manifold are where they inject the material into the mold for the manifold and they just cut them off. if you round them over with a file or some sandpaper it will smoth the corners and help with that problem. its not melting its just rubbing it off because it is realy sharp.
