I want to keep this car for a LONG time. One of my criteria for buying her was that I knew I wouldn't be sick of looking at the thing after 5 years. I'm probably going to get a new car eventually, but I'll keep this one rather than trade it in for a fraction of what it's worth to me - I knew going into it that this car isn't going to retain its monetary value very well, so I'm going to hold onto it for a good long time. Maybe once the warranty is up, I'll put in a blower or something, or even drop in a new engine someday (yes, I know there's loads of other work that goes along with a bigger engine).

What I'd like to do is pass it down to my eventual children, as a classic car. I think it would be rather cool 40+ years down the road, when everyone's flitting down the roadway in their fusion-powered hovercars, to watch them point and stare at the classic 2006 internal-combustion antique as I take my hypothetical grandkid for a spin. LOL I'm such a nerd.[8D]

I had my last car for about 15 years . I'm hoping to keep my 05 just as long.

I agree with amystery2u. My dad had an old Ford 65 Falcon. I've ALWAYS regretted letting that car go. I'll keep my Stang and just rebuild it someday. I plan on taking care of it. Its a legend. Especially the retro looks. Get rid of it. Nah. This ones a keeper.

I'm keeping mine 'til 12/01/2006. That's when we turn in my wife's Explorer. She'll get the Oh Five to drive regularly, and I will drive my '66 coupe every day. Need to get rid of some debts, and one less car payment will go a long way to help out. Eventually, I'd like to get her a used T-Bird (the latest body style), and I will take back my Oh Five. But THIS CAR IS A KEEPER!
