not that there isn't room for improvement, but I've always thought the Shaker 500 speakers sounded pretty good. how loud were you listening to blow ur speaker?
I was cranking Rob Zombie, it was not up all the way, neither was the treble or the bass, but it was kinda loud.

Happened to mine too Replaced them with Orion speakers and put an amp great upgrade sine now you have a reason too o_O pretty easy to do the install and if you take out ur spare tire u can mount your amp to the bottom of your trunk if you get one o_O

Is it possible to listen to Zombie any other way than LOUD? It's heavy metal, no such thing a low volume..lol

I have my speakers replaced but I didnt do it, I had the pros do there thang, LOL! But it shouldnt be that hard, it is the perfect time to upgrade the speaks though, and yeah the stock speakers are 5x7/6x8's if your tying to get component speakers there mostly going to say 5x7s. BTW the Shaker 500 doesnt come with the sub in the trunk? I just got the standard system, which worked out perfect it let me do my own setup.
