Dual GT Mufflers; Encountered any fit issues with Ford Take-off parts?
Hi,
I am ready to get my Exhaust Take-Off GT parts installed; GT mufflers, driver side pipe, Stock H-Pipe cut right behind the cats. I have all the proper hardware.
I plan on cutting the Y about 8 inches behind the cats, then expand the H pipe 2 forward pipes to overlap by about 2 inches the cat lines. These 2 overlaping joints will then be welded.
The Muffler shop I went haven't done any 05 model yet, but did many 99-04. They tell me they had problem before with the rear driver side pipe hitiing the brake line, where they had to rework the line bracket. They tell me there may be some clearances issues between the V6 and GT, to be found when they do the job.
Anybody used the stock GT components and might validate there is no clearance issue at all. I also added previously the rear GT sway-bar.
Thanks

Ohh and as everyone else has and will say, the holes and paths are there, you will have to get some extra parts for hanging the muffler or make your own. Search for "dual exhaust parts" and you should find all you need to know.

RE: DUAL GT MUFFLERS; ENCOUNTERED ANY FIT ISSUES WITH FORD TAKE-OFF PARTS?
I've got the dual GT take-offs. AFAIK, there are no issues like on the previous V6s (off set fuel tank)
The guy that did mine didn't have any problems installing the duals with H-pipe. I cut the notch in my bumper, muffler shop fabbed the driver side midpipe and H-pipe.
I do remember reading that the GT H-pipe is not a direct swap but can't comfirm.
Something about the piping being two different sizes. Someone else may know for sure.
