Default Question about our 4.0 manual trannys

Just a question but i havent switched to hurst but been looking at it so with the stock tranny it seems as when im shifting its real hard well not hard but very unhelpful. When I shift you almost have to give it that extra muscle unlike my clean shift i had when I had my 85 GT. For example I will shift to second and it will just stick until I pull a little harder to get it into gear. Anyone noticed this or seen it? Thanks for the help and im real terrible at describing things.

yah its like it has 2 stages to the shift... it hits sumthing as its going in. the gt just slips in first time.

im wondering if the new aftermatker shifter systems erradicates this too

That's why I'm getting the Hurst, I'm hoping that it will eliminate, or at least reduce, the difficulties in the shifts. It's really annoying when you're trying to slam gears under hard acceleration and can't quite get it in gear. Combine that with the MASSIVE shift throw we've got stock, and it ends up costing some pretty serious time.

+1 It is extremelly short..... I am still getting used to it and sometimes I do not release the clutch because I am unsure that it is in gear.... It is that short!!!
