Default Shelby/Paxton s/c - lower price

Anyone notice that the Shelby/Paxton supercharger is now at a lower price? If I recall, it was around $4500... now, it's at $3999.

I'll give 'em a call next week to confirm... but, does anyone know if the kit comes with injectors and an upgraded fuel pump? Is a fuel pump even needed? If it was a complete kit, minus the tune, the price has now gotten me intrigued!

It's a Vortech repackaged.... They are sister companies. If you like the Paxton name to keep it "authentic Shelby" go Paxton, otherwise, it's the same unit as the Vortech. It looks exactly like mine...

Atleast they realized the price should be more in line

I wish they'd drop the price on the Hood - lol

Isn't the Paxton supposed to produce more power than the Vortech (at the same psi, that is)?

from what I heard it's the same unit... same power same psi same etc... Guess it depends who tunes it. You can have 2 identical Procharger, Vortech, X-Charger etc... and no 2 will make the same power ( even on identical cars ) when they are tuned differently. My Vortech S/C makes alot more power than the Vortech advertises with their own Diablo tune (and tuner). Then again I had mine custom tuned on a MustangDyno for hours and endless pulls and have about 6 or 7 different tunes I use at this point - lol

It's all in the tune

well, it says it supposed to be making $350hp with their dual exhaust. But is that whp or flywheel hp? And for 4k the Paxton does look like a viable option now now that the X-Charger let me down!!!!!! I really like those wheels http://www.shopshelby.com/cs6parts/cs6005.jpg does anybody know where i can find some identical ones that are a lil bit cheaper?

x charger let u down? what you mean? i got to compare sum torque curves before i decide on anything. 1/4 mile times arent the deciding factor for me, i want a reall fun DD that has alot of power light to light.

thats all find and dandy, but for me the 1/4 is the deciding factor. Whatever i do to it i want it to be able to spank Evos(stock atleast). i already know i would need a lot of suspension mods on top of the power.

We really don't know how they will do in the 1/4 yet. I'm guessing mid 13s. They make good power from 1800-6000+rpm so i really don't see why not. We should know soon. ;-)
