Magna Flows a Knockin...

Magna Flows a Knockin...
OK...I love my magna flow duals but I have had to add a couple of hangers at the local muffler shop to keep them from banging around.
Just when I thought I had everything solved I still occasionally hear a minor knock from underneath.
While putting on my rear sway bar today I determined a small gap between the spare tire well
and one of the magna flow elbows is where the knock is occurring.
It is too tight a gap for another hanger or brace. Is there rubber pads you can buy that will dampen the sound and protect the pipe?
I don't want to go back to the muffler shop!

RE: Magna Flows a Knockin...
I had the same problem on one side only, and no amount of tweaking the pipes would make it go away. Just an occasional clank over certain rough road streches. I bought a tube of Permatex Ultra Copper high temp RTV, made a 1/4" thick "bumper" by filling a small circular cap I had laying around, about the size of a half dollar. Once the bumper was dry, I crawled under the car and attached it to the body using the same RTV. I used a piece of tape to hold it up there while it dried. One year later, it's still there and never an annoying clank.
Also...I used some chalk under the car first to make sure I had located the exact spot it was hitting...rub it in the suspected area, go for a drive till it knocks, it'll leave a mark from impact.

RE: Magna Flows a Knockin...
I just spent a couple of days chasing a knock on my Magnaflows (dr side). Turned out it was an extra long bolt for the rear seatbelt latch/body mounting point. I installed the correct length bolt and no more knocking.
