Stock air intake
So I posted early last week in the wtb section that I am looking for a stock air intake and the only guy who replied says he has a stock 05 v8. Are the V8's different? I assume so but you all know what happens when we assume!

Also let me know if anyone on here has a stock V6 they want to get rid of.

The V8 tube is whats different. but also the V8 airlid is a bit taller, which would be better than the V6 lid

Buy a C&L and tuner. Sell your dog. Sell your kid. Sell your wife. It's worth it.

RE: Stock air intake
The V8 (GT) intake has an 80 mm intake throat vs. a 70 mm for the V6. I installed a GT airbox on my car with a modifed airbox bottom, along with a K&N filter and the car ran significantly better. The only problem (with my set-up) was that I got a CEL after about 15 minutes due to running too lean (I'm making a reasonable guess here). I think one of the often referenced tuning gurus on this site could come up with a good tune for the X-Cal2 to compensate and the problem would be solved. You shouldn't have to change the MAF with an appropriate tune.
