Default Has anyone done a tlock themselves?

Is a Tlock replacement a DYI job or does it requiere special tools?

I know that Flapjack, a member of the forums, installed a Detroit True-Trac. (Stronger T-lok)
He did a fantastic write up on the 4.0 forums.

I would have to say that most people on the boards could not perform the job. (Some can though!)
I'm just going to have a shop professionally install them for me in the future.

i dont recomend it, but if your confident enough you could.. youll need some centering tools and measurment tools to adjust pinion angle and depth

no need to change pinion depth or anything if ur just doin the tlok, only if ur replacing the gears at the same time.

Do you have a link? When the x-charger comes out and I get it I want to upgrade to the Detroit True-Trac.

I did my own, and I used quite a bit of that tutorial to get me through it. (thanks for posting it!)

If your good with tools, have the time, and extra $$$ if you screw it up, go for it. Otherwise, I'd leave it to a professional.

In retrospect, I'm glad I did my own (learned a LOT), but if there's a next time or I decide to swap out the gears, I'm having it done professionally.
