I just got a quote to install 3.73 gears and a TLok in my '05 of $1000. There were Richmond gears..... this sounds really high. Anybody ever hear of Richmond gears? I would try to install myself with the help of a mechanic friend, but I am so worried about doing it badly and getting whine. The dealer who quoted the $1000 says he has a "digital something or other" that lets him get the mesh perfect. Anybody have any idea what this is?

Also, he quoted $485 for gears and TLok if I just wanted to buy the parts... again... this seems high.

I had the dealer install my T-Loc for just over $700.00 so your price don't sound too bad with the gears added in there.

sounds HUGE to me, i thougth u could buy t lok for 210 bucks, labour CANT be over 500, if it costs that much i'm seriously reconsidering adding power if i have to spend that ammount just for traction

for 700?!! LOL no way, never spending 700 on sumthing a rwd car should come with fromt he factory

I agree with Paul. I'm sure I can get an 8.8 rearend with 3.73 gears and LSD and installation for less than $1,000.

I bought my true trak seperate, but to have it installed, along with gears and labor for the gears I was quoted a littl over 530 or so.
