as for why, the dual exhaust is "suggested" because of the increase in air flow. It would be bad to have all that air being forced into the engine, and not enough room for it to come out. As for the $400, that was just an estimate. I'm actually hoping to go as quiet as possible since my car is an every day driver. The GT take-offs will probably be what i settle with, i thought they were a little more expensive. So we'll say 200 for the exhaust. And that e-mail is exactly what i got when i asked them.

So right now our total is around:

CA spec X-CHARGER complete / no tune: $3495.00
Hi-po upgrade if ordered with X-CHARGER: $399.95
Xcalibrator2 with X-CHARGER tune: $399.00
Dual Exit Exhaust (GT Takeoffs): $200.00

Total: $4493.95

well.. even with the x-charger I doubt you'll pick up much by going to duals... cats will probably be the bottlenecks...

It's recommended by EE, and i figure it will sound nice. I want it quiet, but still nice.

yeah you put something like a single MRT back there and you'll have plenty of airflow. The stock muffler is the main air restriction on our setups. Not saying it neccesarily the only one, but it is the MAIN one.
