I spent almost 8 hours installing factory alarm. Had to trace all the wires and test them to make sure each wire does what it supposed to (voltage or not depends on function). All went well and everything is in place. Now the issue. Once I reconnected my battery the alarm went off and the I had to use the disarm switch with ignition on to disable. Instructions call for programming the alarm and provides the guidelines. I can get into the programming option but unable to make changes. Basically my alarm doesn't arm. I can get in and out of valet mode but unable to arm the alarm. What gives?
I went through all the wiring again and redid the connections and tested with voltmeter. Also I called the tech support for Code Alarm and they asked me to check voltage accross door close sensor and also the Ignition wire. All tested ok but not sure why still doesn't arm. Fusses are all ok.
Anyone installed their own alrams? Any hints?
