Painting brake calipers

Painting brake calipers
I've got a Minerel Gray vert with a tan top, interior and gold door stripes. This weekend I'm looking to get a tint and the calipers done. The problem is, not many colors would look too well with the Mineral Gray..It's a beautiful color, just not very compatible with others. So, I've decided to keep that gold/tan theme going and paint the calipers a similar color. Has anyone seen this done? Is the color gold even available for paint and if so, does it look trashy?

That is where I ordered my Blue Calliper Paint set, maybe the yellow will help you? If not order the kit and then go to a paint store and just get high temp. paint in the color you want, I don't see why it shouldn't work, you don't even have to really order the kit, just go out and buy the materials needed.

Hope this helps. I have seen some gold paints that look good and for $35 these better look good!!

RE: Painting brake calipers
I did mine this weekend. It was really hot though... guarantee I lost a few pounds. I did mine in red... Brembo style... but the whole time I was second guessing myself on whether I should have done them in white. All you need is a bottle or 2 of brake cleaner spray, one can of primer, and one can of color, maybe a clearcoat. I did the whole job for $16 and that was buying the high temp paint from an overpriced auto parts store. I don't know how much the kits are or what they include, but just buying the paint seperately is probably cheaper.

I agree with CMCs05pony, you may come out cheaper by buying the stuff seperate, just call some of your local parts stores and see if they carry any High temp gold paint, so you are not driving all over looking for it, some places only carry the most popular colors and may not have what you are looking for. My kit didn't come with a primer may not be neccessary. Just need to make sure it is very clean, purchase some brake cleaner and scrub it good. After you scrub it really good, just spray the heck out of it with the brake cleaner and let it air dry. Then you should be ready to paint.
