Default Sway Bar Comparison Question

In terms of the Hellwig vs GT Takeoff sway bars... is there any massive difference in the handling capability change between stock and aftermarket between the two as there is in the price? Just trying to make a good decision, because the GT Takeoff sway bar price is amazing, but if its not worth it, then thats 30 bux in my pocket! Let me know!! thanks guys

I read in Modified Mustangs that when you add a rear sway bar, to any vehicle, that it's best to go with a rear sway bar designed for the higher grade (in our case the GT) version of your vehicle versus the aftermarket. The reasoning is that the aftermarket may be composed of different grade materials, shaped differently, and could be so aggressive that it could actually cause wheel lift and therfore lose traction.

That made me choose the GT takeoff. I'm very happy with it.

FYI, the difference in the front V6 swaybar and the GT is around 5mm (if I remember correctly) and the difference would hardly be noticable and definetly not worth the expense. Just in case you were thinking of changing that one out, I thought I would thow out that tid bit.

Thank you for the tidbit -- I was this close to giving Saleen $60 for one!

As far as the front one goes I'd say go for the Saleen take off at 30 bucks; I did it and it does make a difference. I put the Hellwig on the rear and it's awesome; now my car didn't have a rear bar so I'm comparing without anything to with the Hellwig.

I may be a day late and dollar short replying here but I put the GT Takeoff on my 'vert and the difference is HUGE compared to not having one at all. No need to spend extra on the aftermarket unless you are racing professionally in my opinion.
