Default New Guy Here

Hi All~

Been reading these forums for quite some time and what you guys have done with these cars is nothing short of amazing! I recently purchased a 2005 V6 base model, no bells or whistles. So far I have added an Airaid CAI and greatly upgraded the stereo system.

So my question is, what should I do next? I am looking at headers, but am not sure what is best. My knowledge is very limited, so I don't even know the difference between short and long tube. Also I am looking to upgrade the exhaust but am unsure whether to go with duals or a single MRT?

Thanks ahead of time for the advice.

Welcome to the forums. If you're looking to ugrade your car's exhaust check out the Exhaust Clips at the top of this forum. For headers I would go with JBA shorties, that's just my opinion.

Congrats on you're new 2006 Pony, just got my 2006 Silver Pony V6 3 weeks ago & couldn't be happier. the 1st mod i did was throw in a 40 series deltaflow flowmaster exhaust. i think you should go w/ the exhaut mod next, which ever you choose to purchase.i'll be getting my after market stereo in a few weeks because the stock stereo is sounds like its gonna blow up w/ the type of music i listen too.lol..

Thanks Jeremy, the JBA shorties are what I was leaning towards. Any idea of where to get the best price? And I'm having trouble finding those clips you were talking about.

heres the exhaust sticky ... https://mustangforums.com/m_1183819/tm.htm Theres a ton of clips on there...i just had my dual GT takeoffs run not to long ago and couldnt be happier with them! Also if i were you id go with exhaust next...it really opens up the car and lets it run free if you will..hope this helps, and again congrats on the new stang

If you want the headers check out JBA(probably done that already), or check the sponsers on this site.

Thanks J25. I was bitter that I couldn't afford the Pony Package upgrade, so I decided to do it myself (or outdo it, as it were). I started with the stereo system: I added 2 MTX thunder 10"s powered by a 600 watt MTX amp, and 4 pioneer 6x8's powered by an 500 watt MTX amp, all run by a pioneer deh-p780mp deck. Blows the shaker 1000 system out of the water! Still got much more work to do, though.

As for the exhaust, I really want to upgrade that so I can get that sweet muscle car sound. Which brings me back to the dilemma: what is better for the V6, duals or a single exhaust? I've heard a lot of good things about MRT.
