Why a V6 ?

1. GAS. It's my daily driver and I do 125 miles a day.
2. Insurance.

and above all.................

3. I have a son who is 13 1/2. He will be able to get a permit in 2 years. No way his *** is driving a GT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. My oldest has a 03 Mach1 and I borrow it for pure grins.

my insurance company refused to insure an 18 yr old with a GT, plus my insurance would have been a little over $3,000 every 6 months. I've never regreted getting my 6 for a minute though

well said. My neighbor has an 06 black GT, we went for a cruise one day, left with a full tank and before we got home we were down to 3/4. That was in the span of about 35 mins.

Ford started producing the V6 'vert about 8 weeks before they started producing the GT 'vert.

I'm impatient... and I wanted to stand out, at least for a little while. When I first got my car, it was like I was driving a lambo. Everyone wanted to stop and talk to me. Jaws dropped, people gawked. It was awesome.

Had I waited on the GT, everyone would have already seen the new mustang 'vert, and I wouldn't have had the chance to feel like a millionaire.

Not that I'm saying the car still doesn't get plenty of attention, but the first couple months after I got her, were amazing.

I bought the V-6 because it has enough power for me. I was wondering if I would need to get the GT, but after test driving my car, I decided that it was good enough. It doesn't tempt me to get speeding tickets or to do other dumb things, but it's still faster than 85-90% of the other cars on the road.

Besides, when I feel the need to go fast, I just ride one of my Ducatis.

Found a leftover '05 vert for almost $7000 off sticker... got it for $24,000. A similar '06 GT vert was going to cost me $33,000. That's $9000 difference. Then I drove the 6'er, and it seemed plenty fast. Then I did the muffler, tune and CAI and I am totally happy. People who I take for a spin can't believe it's a six. Heck... it's faster and has way more torque that any of the 8 cylinders I have owned in my life, including my beloved '86 5.0 liter Thunderbird.

The V6 Mustang coupe is my daily driver and go on Mustang Club activities car. One of my other cars is a fully optioned 2000 Corvette convertible with 6 speed manual and Billy Bob exhaust. The price of gas was also a factor in buying the V6 instead of a GT.

i chose a sixer because of the overall price, the cost of insurance, and the gas mileage. i am very satisfied.
