Well my first reason was that I got mine in Jan., 2005. They were very hard to find, the dealership didn't even have any in stock, it would have been way too much on insurance, and for the price difference i could tune a 4.0 pretty good. Plus when i pulled on the lot i saw the car sitting on the car hauler still and fell in love with it and purchased it before the dealer even took it off of the delivery truck lol. The salesman was like don't you want to test drive and I said: "I don't have to, I want that car."

I wasn't even in the market for a car. I was looking forward to paying off my 2002 Dodge Ram(I only had a year and a half left)and I hate to say it here...but Generally I am a GM fan. Hubby and I have owned several Camaros, Vettes (still do) and Trans Ams. But we passed through the car lot and I spotted my car. That was it. All of my plans went out the window. It could just as easily been a GT. But it wasn't. It was a V6 and it was coming home with me. If it were a GT that I fell in love with...well it would be sitting in my garage right now. I have never experienced anything like that feeling I had when I spotted my car...Short of seeing my only child for the first time. But my car is a V6 and I couldn't be prouder of it if it were a Ferrari...

I have not bought a S197...I would most likly get the V6 because I have a built 5.0 already, and I drive 3000 miles a month on average....besides, the grille looks better

All the reasons already covered.

Didn't want to pay the extra cash
Didn't want the higher insurance
Didn't need the lower gas mileage
Didn't need the power
Spotty availability at time of purchase

When I got my car in August 2005, the few GT's at dealers near me were either bare bone or absolutely loaded convertibles. Both had $9995 markups.

I'm the atypical Mustang owner. I don't care about power, I don't buy a car to compensate for any shortcomings, and I don't particularly care what other people think of my car. I buy a car for getting back and forth to work or wherever else I go, and it helps to be a fun car to drive. My car meets both of these criteria.

Some days I actually miss the old Cavalier, because I wasn't afraid to park it in a busy shopping mall or dark alley, I wasn't afraid to drive it down a dirt road, or snowy conditions, or beat the hell out of it when I was in a hurry. Now that I have a Mustang, I've become very protective of my investment. If I'd gone with the GT, I'd be afraid to leave the garage.

But, when I hear a GT go by with dual MRT's, it kills me that I didn't get one.

The V6 and Gt are almost identical in mpg consumption a 1-2 mpg difference so unles syou travel 100+ miles a day you really wont notice much of a difference.. My 02 v6 got slightly better gas mileage than my current GT..

Because I drive 120 miles a day 7 days a week and gas would have killed me!

Cost of petrol was the biggest factor in my choice. Of course insurance and sticker price also played major factors. The power wasn't as big a deal since I was upgrading from a 2.0 Focus so needless to say I am twice as fast as I used to be!

This was the only convertible they were getting. I got it right off the truck! It kinda sucked because I wasnt able to pick anything out. It was already ordered, but I got pretty much everything I wanted except for the rims but I will prob. end up getting the bullits so it works out. Plus money, seeing im paying for ****ty college and the car!!! Oh yeah and did i mention im 21 with 9 tickets!!! Insurance and the lead foot of mine wouldnt do very well with a GT and hell gas it sooooo damn expensive im soooo happy i got a 6!!!!
