Yeeeaah Legend Lime. Looks like you got one of the last ones since they're not making them anymore in '07.

That will get you out of the hole right quick, I would throw a LSD in at the same time since labor will be the same.
True, I figure at 158 bucks and some change, most bang for buck. Since I'm down 2 cylinders with less torque, that 4:10 should launch me like a V8. I don't believe that would void any warranties? The only thing that I am not to sure of is how its going to handle when I'm driving that puppy in the winter in NE ohio.

I can see the laughter from a mile away, but what is a 4:10

gear ratio of axle...
Means that the driveshaft makes 4.1 revolutions for every 1 revolution of your rear tire.

Higher numbers indicate 'lower' gears, which allows your car to accelerate more quickly. Lower numbers indicate 'higher' gears, which has a greater effect on top speed.

Think about a 10 speed bike - start out in 1st gear and you can pedal like hell right away, but you don't cover a lot of ground with every pedal revolution. Try to start out in 10th gear and you almost can't get moving - but you will go a long way with every turn.

Which ratio is "best" for your car? It depends completely on what you are trying to accomplish.....

I'm guessing that the speedo has to be recalibrated for different gear ratios?

Only if you want it to be accurate.

Just kidding, sorry....

Yes - but that's whey you get a tuner, right?

Any kinda idea how much it would be out going from 3.31's to 3.73's? I have a tuner coming but it will be shipped to the place that I am going for vacation in ~2weeks, and I have a 1500km+ drive to get there.

I don't think anyone answered this and I am curious myself...Wouldn't new gears void at least part of your warranty? Anyone had warranty problems with this?

If I have it figured correctly, Speedo should read fast by about 12.5%.

The 3.73s are about 12.5% lower than 3.31s, and your driveshaft would have to rotate faster for any given wheel speed than before.

So 67.5 on the speedo would give you 60 actual road speed, and the faster you go, the farther off you would be.
