I have never had any (skipping) problems except that it would not play some MP3 tracks so I reripped them using a different / better program and they play alright now.
ORIGINAL: Fizzie06
for stock I have to disagree some units skip but mine still is perfect.
Chris do you still have a mustang?

RE: Shaker 500 & 1000 MSRP?
ORIGINAL: LX200
I have the 1000 in my vert, it works real nice. Can't imagine having less than the 1000 when the top is down.
On another note, I just started using mp3 discs.... nice... I can get 150 songs on one disk, or almost 1000 songs across the 6 CD's.

Anyway, I don't mean to change the subject or purpose of the thread -- just wanted to echo what LX200 said. Awesome feature.
Back to the 1000, it does sound great, but I don't like the fact that I can only adjust bass and treble. If there was an equalizer included, I would be completely satisfied....but still pretty damn good for a stock system.

that sounds sweet with the no additional charge for the 1000. I originally wanted the 1000 but the mustang I got had the 500. I love it. Sometimes I wish it had a little more bass, but that is just to make people jelous. The sound is awesome in the 500; however, I wouldnt swich to the 1000 if I already had the 500. The difference in the price is quite a bit and it is only two 10's with a 500 watt amp. You could get two 10's in a box (alot better 10's than what would come in the 1000) and a 500 watt or better amp and have it installed and still have money left over for the price you would pay just to upgrade to the 1000. To me its not worth it. I will probably just by like one 12" sub and a 750 watt amp and be done with it. that would be more than enough in a mustang and probably would be much more than a shaker 1000.

I am going to do the same thing. I'm going to go with the MTX Thunderstorm box that goes where the shaker subs go in the truck, so I still have the storage and go with a Rockford Fosgate P1 12" Sub and just get an amp and the adapter for the shaker 500 head unit so that i can hook up an amp.

that is probably what I will do except since I have a convertable, I will go with a custum box that fits under the metal container that holds the top when it is down. it isnt really big enough to put anything under it so it is pretty much useless for storage, but there is enough volume in there to push one 12" I think.
