Saw a new GT500 at a local dealer today

RE: Saw a new GT500 at a local dealer today
I saw one today as well. I had seen one at the Dallas Auto Show, but it was up on a rotating dais and roped off. This one was red with white stripes and was sitting outside (under a canopy). The thing that really struck me is... it..... is.... a car. I mean, it's been built up to such god-like status that just seeing it sitting there with other cars was anti-climactic. Isn't it supposed to be glowing and have angels flying around it? In fact I would dare to say that if you're not a Mustang lover you probably couldn't hardly tell it from any other Mustang. I wouldn't mind having that mill under the hood though

they are going to make plenty of gt 500s at least more than 03-04 cobras ..just wait a bit ...eventually the new car hype will wear off and dealers will be forced to sell them for msrp or less.

I don't know man. I work at a GM Dealer called Roby Autogroup in Marysville, OH and we just got our first Z06 in Tuesday and our Ebay sales Manager is posting it at like 50k over MSRP because he says that is what it is going for. I tell ya man dealerships today are just such rip-offs. If they would just sell the damned cars at or maybe even just a couple thousand over MSRP alot more people would have the option of buying one instead of just the people that are loaded. They would sell alot more alot easier that way. Our Z06 has an MSRP of somewhere around $72,000, but our price is almost $120,000. It's ridiculous.[:@]

our local dealer here just got in our first cobra too! Same color option white with blue stripe...i went inside to check it out and they have it roped off 5 feet all the way around the car. From what i could see of the sticker they had a "market value adjustment" of 45,000 bucks on it. So saying the sticker was probobly 60? that car is now 105,000 bucks. Like all of you guys said...nice car...but deff not worth that much.

yeah man no kidding... for $107, 000 dollars i better have traffic stopping on the other side of the road to look at my car...
hell it better pay for college just by lookin good too lol
i mean the cobra is BAD A$$, but i see an 03-04 cobra at least 3 times a day and the WOW factor has really worn off... same thing will happen to the new ones and the people who got 4 more mortgages on their houses to buy one of these are gonna be pissed off lol
and yeah i agree, if you're not a true mustang lover, you wouldn't know it was the car that it is anyway... looks so similar to a standard V6 that most anyone could make the mistake.... almost

Um... dunno where the hell you live but the dealer I got my car from has a new Shelby for $61k... Im thinking you misread the sticker. MSRP is about $45k and the markup is around $15k.. not $60k. I have already seen a new Shelby on the road and there is no way someone is paying $100k for that car. Simply isnt worth it. No one is going to buy a car for over DOUBLE what the msrp is, I dont care how much money you have. No dealership would ever be able to sell one if they were selling it for $100k, thats more than 100% profit. Theres also laws against that.
