i just read that there stock 0to60 is 7.5 sec thats garbage man ours is like 6.9
get exhaust and a cai and a tune and really make him respect 4.0s
dont know about there 0-60 times, but they are a high 14 second car, notches with 3.08 (factory) gears and a good driver should be in the mid 14s

Here are some of the stock times for the late model 5.0's...the only one we'd beat for sure is one with an automatic.

1987 Ford Mustang GT 6.4 14.4 (Automobile, April 87)
1988 Ford Mustang GT 6.4 15.0 (MT Jan '88)
1989 Ford Mustang GT 5.0l Manual 6.2 14.8 (MT Jan '89)
1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 6.4 14.9
1991 Ford Mustang GT 7.3 15.6
1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 6.2 14.8
1993 Ford Mustang GT (auto) 8.0 16.1

Of course they mod very well, thos're stock times, and finding a stock Fox 5.0 nowerdays...happens as much as finding a stock Supra nowerdays

i was next to a 98 red convertible gt the other day and he had another kid in the car. He floored it and it was loud as HELL, but i floored it expecting to tail him by alot, but i got right up next to him and he had the most surprised look on his face...they are loud and sound mean, but stock they really aren't that fast.

[size=2]good for you and your confidence!!

Though you might be surprised what those gt's can do with a few mods. I have a 96 gt with the wimpy 4.6 and only 215 hp but i do have a few mods and have made quite a few 05 06 v6 kids regret that they had to get a v6, only a few thou more. The other day I raced my buddys cali special and took him, he just spent 32 g's on it he didnt feel that great. Im just saying that you gotta respect everyones stang cause it might look dead stock outside but you never know whats underneath it. You can tell I have had alot of crap talk to me for my year and specs but a little torque and the right gears can get you some respect. go ahead and reply to me but im not trying to be a negative S%&$ talker just warning you.

I know that with a few mods those GT's are gonna beat a 4.0. But it is nice to know that Ford didnt whimp out and just stick some pansy V6 in our cars, they really put some effort into it and gave us a damn good motor. It can hang with most Gt's, and with Mods it can beat them. I did not buy my V6er to race GT's. But it is nice to know that having a V6 doesnt mean that you automatically got some slow turd of a car. Most V6 versions of Sports cars i.e. Camaro, SN95 mustangs, and such, have over time become widley known to be slow, gutless, and unimpressive. For once, Ford showed the world, V6 doesnt = compromise, it can be just as fast if not faster than ALOT of "sports" cars on the road. It says alot when my friend at work who owns a blue 98 GT 5 spd with X pipes and C&L intake, will NOT race me, even though he would gladly race other friends, and its because he KNOWS... the 4.0 aint no damn joke... its serious SH%@
