Default v6Track disapointment!! Not this time!!

Finally a 14.9!! And could of been better. I went to the track again last friday, the guys there tell me I put more miles on my car at the track than on the street!! This time I brought both tuners, both CAIs and 87 fuel, still in full street trim. The weather was in the upper 70's and not humid. The first pass with the microtuner and s&B cai got me a 15.0981 @ 89.25 mph. Dam I was close!!, a couple more 15.0's and I was getting mad and redlighing ( good thing it was a test and tune) Even though this was 3 tenths faster than I could get with the SCT2 tune, c&l cai and 93 fuel, I knew there was more. So I did some experimenting-I took the C&L alum tube and put the way smaller s&B filter on it with a rubber toilet 2 to 3 inch adapter I bought at lowes that morning just for this purpose. Now, with the c&L and its original filter my car would spit through the tube on launch with the SCT tune, and would not idle if I used the microtuner with it. The smaller filter cut the airflow enough that the car would idle with the microtuner, so I took it out on the track and it pulled much better-suprising me at the line with too much wheel spin on a 1800 rpm launch- this combo got me a 14.9503@91.45mph. That made my day, and told me I need to find the right tune as it was not a solid pass. The next run I got even more wheel spin and hit the rev limiter on the one two shift, getting me a 15.1549@90.57, I made one more pass with a hot car and ran a 15.0580@90.95. So my time dropped and the mph increased. It pulled much harder to 6200rpms with this combo. I found I need three more things- 1st, the right tuner-I'm going to see lido after the dream cruise- 2nd, drag radials-3rd better lower control arms. My wife's gonna just love me............14.5's are the next goal............

Nice job!!! Congrats. When I was NA, I was able to launch at 2000 on street tires. Did you lower the psi on your rear tires, and make sure your front tires were not too low.

sweet deal man. Make your next goal a 14.8, 14.5 is going to be extremely hard for autos without a higher stall..

Fazm-can't you tell I like to make things hard on myself!!, if I don't run 14.8 with the right tune I'll buy the damn track. I had 45psi in the front, 35 in the back and drove around the water, then spun'em to clean'em. I did do one long smokey burnout, the track guys loved it. Didn't help, but the chicks dug it

lol ya, smokey burnouts on stock tires = bad for traction.

the only thing i can point out is ur rear tires should be about 27 or so. And powerbreak up to 2200 or more if itll let you.
