I raced a fusion on the street (bad I know). Both were autos and we were dead even. I was surprised, I thought I would have it no prob.

arent they running those new 3.5 v6's with 250hp? that, less weight, plus AWD.....i'd think they are faster than our cars
The Altimas? Yeah, they use the same 3.5 <tuned differently> as the G35, 350Z etc...the reg 3.5 SE and SL's are 250/249 and the SE-R is 260/251...they are about 3300lbs at the heaviest. Stock the Altima 3.5's run low-mid 14's.

My buddy has one, i raced it, and sadly lost by quite a few car lenghts, for a family sedan they really pack a nice punch.

what type moonbaby? Was it an auto, coupe, how many people, mods, just a little detail.
You seem like a cool, realistic person, and i'm not downing your car, we're all Mustangs, but i really don't think it matterswhat new edge v6 trim or tranny goes up against an s197 v6, auto or manual it should be a win for the s197. Low 16 in auto, mid-high 15 in 5sp vs low 15 in auto, high 14-low 15 in manual, not really a contest. The best i ever saw a 5sp new edge v6 run in 5sp with quite a few n/a bolt-ons was a 15.2, auto high high 15's.
new edges are actually high 15s in an auto

High high 15-low low 16, not much of a difference. Either way the 4-sp autos in the new edge are quite a bit slower then the current 5-sp autos.
