hey everyone,
I just wanted to know if any of you guys have gone up against a 99-04 v6? I have awhile back and beat him, he was an auto though. I am just interested in what you guys have done, plus it seems this place needs to be livened up,lol. I used to go to 3.8mustang.com, but it is all pretty much dead there. I havent been there in months, just went back yesterday, and there was hardly any new posts. I guess everyone is following suit and coming here

ya, i mean unless ur goin with P&P heads, and a 4.2 crank swap or somin, they dont stand too much of a chance. Fully built i think ive seen them put out 240-250rwhp, but thats with cam, 4.2L, P&P heads, intake, tune, etc etc etc.

and the chassis itself just doesnt hook up as well as the 05's

No offense taken, i have driven a steeda 05 and i do have to admit they are better cars all around. The one thing we do have for our years is less weight. I just wanted to see what some of your experiences were. I posted the kill awhile back, but short story is that i was about a 1/2 car length behind when he gunned it and i dropped to second and was pullin on him the whole way, by third i was 2/3 way past him then i was gone. Trust me, if i had the option right now to get an 06 i would, thinking about turning this into a project car in a little though.

i really dont see how all this is possible
stock and auto i have beatin the crap out of 3.8s manual and automatic two with h pipe duals and an intake and one with duals an intake and a tune
i have also driven an auto with duals intake and a tune and i wasnt impressed and i drove a manual one, it was faster but i could not wait to get back in my 4.0

If anything, i had like no gas at the time either, lol. i dont know what his deal was, but i had him and he was going all out. We were going up a hill aswell, so he might of had something heavy in his trunk. Who knows, it was a street race and everyone knows anything can happen.

also the 99-04 v6's are mid to high 15 sec mustang, while the 05+ is a low to mid 15sec mustang, so it is possible.

i have raced my buddies 99 auto back when i was stock, and the difference was night and day, the old auto's are horrible. Starting out we were even, but half way through second is where i really started to gain, after that he was like a car behind. you should beat him no problem. Sounds like you need to put him in his place, lol
