Mileage gains
Okay, I've got just over 3500 miles on my car and below are the mileage figures in US MPG. These numbers are derived the old-fashioned way, miles driven divided by gallons added. For added fun, I'm in Canada which means these figures started out as litres and kilometres. I've converted them to US MPG since over 80% of you live in the United States.
My five-tank average with the addition of a GT muffler and K&N air filter has risen 2.3% over what I was getting with the stock muffler and air filter. However, much of this gain may be due to my car breaking itself in. I'd love to see what gains other people have made with their cars.

RE: Mileage gains
I have a K & N Aircharger and Flowmaster muffler on my V6...before I added these on (right around 4000mi), I was getting 20mpg city and 29mpg highway...now I range 22mpg city and 32mpg highway...these are the only mods I've made on car...and I usually drive around 40-45mph around town and 70-75mph on the highway

RE: Mileage gains
My mileage on the highway drops off quick if I do one of two things
1. Drive over 80mph for a prolonged period
2. Don't use my cruise control
Lots of literature out there will tell you that using cruise control on the highway will increase your mileage and save you some $$$, so if you haven't tried that, give it a whirl and see what happens...

RE: Mileage gains
Most of my driving is 50MPH, not by choice. This means I'm stuck in fourth. I rarely see fifth. What is a good RPM to cruise at? I find that when I cruise below 2000 RPM the engine drones a lot and I get the urge to gear down.
If cruising at 1500RPM is OK, then I'll use fifth more, and maybe break 25MPG one of these days.
