RE: Knock on wood
the current bands radar detectors pick up is ka/k and x. They are the most popular and on most detectors. The newst thing in the us is pop. This is like its on sending small lazer out then when they see a car they can clock it. The newest radars have this. The one that is comming to the us soon is KU it is used in europe. Its on like 3 or 4 detectors now

I was talking to my buddy today about how I haven't got pulled over yet in Reno for speeding, and later today I see a bike cop rideing my azz! I was like sh*t I jinxed myself, so I pull over and luckily he speeds past me going to an accident further up the road. Anyways, I guess I should get a radar detector soon. Any suggestions?

Am I the only smart-@ss in the group? Just drive under the speed limit!!!

It's not cheap for Police departments to go buy a bunch of new Radar guns just because the technology is available. Fact is, most can sit on on side of the road and write all the tickets they want with their good old KA guns. So, I would'nt pass on buying a detector today because some new thing is coming "soon".
I bought a BEL RX65 off EBAY for $220 brand new and have been pleased with the performance and lack of a bunch of false alerts. Don't think you can go wrong with BEL, Escort (owned by BEL now), or Valentine.
