A 99 Miata is 140/119 at the crank, to the wheel if he's at about 120/105 if manual and 112/98 if auto...going by standard fwd drivetrain loss, about 12-15% for 5-sp and 18-20% for auto. Low 16/ high 15 cars as said so you shouldn't have any problems in a straight line, but any Miata owner who races the car straight line is a moron, the car was made for twisties not drag.

yes its rwd. pretty fun...go to a mazda dealer act interested get a free ride. Prety neat car. Most parts on it are ford. I remember stipping mine out all the air bag sensors were stamped with ford labels and all of the switches for emergcy flashers and other components were all ford parts.
