Well, with all of my track experience (one day, several passes [8D] ), I say leave the tune and transmission do the shifting! I out ran some older GT's that way..hehe.

I have tried this several times, the car always runs slower if i manually shift it. I always leave it at D at the track ....if iam racing from a roll i put it in 1 and shift rapidly into D as soon as i floor it. Good Luck at the track.
