RE: tuning with a laptop
Yes you can if you know how to tune cars but you would need to download software to do that or create your own software and of course you need to have a cable interface. You can actually download tunes but I don't really know if you can trust whoever created these tunes and how familiar they are with out cars.

RE: tuning with a laptop
i know how to get my computer to read the tune off the xcal or pred, copy it, then save it, and distribute it
....i dont think it is legal though, and i dont think that the tuners would like it if i did that

there is no software yet for laptops and no cable interface yet.

Chris,Even if you can read tunes of the xcal2 you wont be able to open them without the dealer program. Trust me my friend is a dealer doen here and i have played around with the software before. You will always need a flashing device and the sct program since they already mapped out the stock spanish oak procesor( which takes a while and a great deal of knowledge about car systems). On my GT i make my own tunes( SCT pro racer package) but have to transfer them to the xcal 2 and then flash the car. Your better off just getting a flasher and retuning as needed ..less hassle.
