RE: Hmmmmm
It seems like the roof and the trunk area would get little dents from hits like that. The hood seems to be a more plastic fiber material that is more dent resistant. But I guess it can compress. How was the rest of the car? I have the problem of giant acorns falling on my car and making dents. It happend to my sisters civic and my moms audi. My dads jeep was think enough to resist the dents but im not taking any chance on my car so im gettin a padded cover.

The hood is the worst! ITs gota whole bunch of little dents in it. Can it get fixed or do I need to buy a whole new hood? The top of the car has dents in it too. Gosh this sucks! SO MUCH! Any one else have any ideas?

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR). Do a google search. Many (if not most) insurance companies these days base these types of claims on figures based on PDR estimates.... not body shop or dealership "replace some steel" estimates. PDR seems kind of fly by night in many regards, but I researched it quite a bit (and will mention why in a moment) and determined that it is legitimate. Ultimately, PDR is part art, skill, patience, PDR tools and proper training and experience to do a skilled, quality job.
The reason I even own an '06 V6 'stang is because of a freak hail storm in early May of this year! My '05 Mercury Sable got turned into a golf ball the one night in months that I did a business trip out of town and could not park in my usual garage! It worked out totally to my advantage though since I had been wanting an '05+ 'stang shortly after buying my Sable.
A dealership estimated my damage to around $8k (approximate selling price or trade-in price actually), but my insurance company sent their own guy to do an estimate based on PDR. This came to around $2k only! I thought, wait a minute... what a rip! But then I researched it and still wound up getting my own PDR specialist to give me an estimate. This jacked up the the estimate only a few hundred more bucks... but it helped me get more from my insurance company. I took their check and then sold my "golf ball" to CarMax "as is" for $8k! Guess what I bought right after that! lol
Bottom line.. yes! Report this to your insurance! It is "an act of God". Not your fault and should not affect your rates at all either. If you have full coverage, you are covered!
