What can I honestly expect?
 

I've been reading all the forums, plodding through the messages and it seems that most of the engine mods seem to be measured in 1/4 mile runs, which is fine because it's a standard (more or less) measurement that allows direct comparisons.

I'm looking at the V6 and having driven a Hertz for about 1000 miles, I really enjoyed it and found it had plenty of power for me.
Of course I'm coming from minivans, 92 Caprice 305 with 145hp but tons of torque etc.....

So anyway, I plan on a CAI and SCT tune at 87/89 octane and also more than likely changing the muffler to a Ford Racing or something similar. I am still listening to the exhaust clips, and they are amazing even for a V6!

So, in ordinary, everyday but let's just say "highly spirited" driving, what kind of subjective in the "butt dyno" differences am I going to notice with the Tune/CAI/Exahust?

you will be able to do burnouts. Thats dyno enough =)

Just made a thread on what I received from CAI and Tune experience.

But in short the stock V6 was a little mushy on the jump, throttle was lagging. Now after cai/tune the front of the car just lifts as I take off. Not off the ground but I am shoved back into my seat unlike before. It is a considerable difference from a dig, and regular driving the RPM/rev goes higher faster due to throttle response.

Plus the car sounds better. Though that's nice, the down side is that I've been getting a bunch more jackoffs driving past me, bumping into neutral and revving up. Guess everybody has to prove themselves or something. But I'll take it to the track, not crowded city lanes.

If you get an auto and you care even the slightest about performance you will definately notice the difference with a tuner.

At least I can get even with the idot Harley owner up the street who I swear doesn't have a muffler on that thing and loves to engine brake all the time.
