The dealership or better yet www.paintscratch.com

You need the base and clear coats. Sand and buff which I suck at.

get the color code first and then check the website.

All I know is that I got touch up paint from my dealership (not "mine", but the closest of many in Houston) based on the color code on a sticker inside my door.... I have a Windveil Blue 'stang and it matches like a MF! (Mustang Forumer hehe!)

Depending on the size/location of the chip you really dont need to waste time with clear. It's just extra steps you can mess up, extra time waiting to dry, and you really won't notice that the 1/16th of an inch of the bumper is clearcoated or not.

If it was a big gash in an obvious spot, I'd talk to a body shop/detailer about fixing it, it's hard to get unnoticable results with a bottle of touchup and a toothpick (though not impossible, of course).

I've heard people say not to bother with touchup paint and car shows... is that true?

I have a few scratches on the bumpers I'd like to take care of... the dealer never gave me any touch up paint, though...

1/2 an oz is only $15 on that paintscratch site and they already have the paint things all you do is search ford mustang and the year so its pretty simple. And it may just be me but i'd rather get touch up and fill it in the best i could rather leaving a big *** nick or gash in the paint and not attempting it to look decent without paying $300 to repaint it.
