Default take off rear axle...?

650 seems cheap for this compared to an lsd w/ an install.

how do you think this would be to put in by yourself.

maybe saleen takes them off, if they throw a supercharger in them b/c its too powerful. Not sure though. If I were to get one I'd have to find out the specifics. Just wondering what the ordeal is for an install

I am (or maybe was) just about to buy one from Hillbank for $850+$50 s/h, with 3.55 gears, marked down from $1199+$50 s/h and from what I was told, Ford sells them for $1700, so I'd say is was a good deal ($650+$120 s/h).

The 3.55 is from a manual transmission GT and the 3.31 is from an Automatic GT. Now, the questions are:

1. Will the drive shaft on an automatic V6 bolt up to the rear end from a manual GT with the 3.55 gears?

2. Will the drive shaft on an automatic V6 bolt up to the rear end from an automatic GT with the 3.31 gears?

3. Will the drive shaft on a manual V6 bolt up to the rear end from a manual GT with the 3.55 gears?

4. Will the drive shaft on a manual V6 bolt up to the rear end from an automatic GT with the 3.31 gears?

if ur already upgrading ur rear end so much that ur replacing it wiht an 8.8, i would just go ahead and get the powerhouse driveshaft, bc ud obviously be etting it bc u need ur car to handle more power, so might as well get the new drivesahft so it doesnt break on the dyno or worse the street.

Eventually that will happen, but for now I need to determine if the existing drive shaft will work with the 8.8 rear end.

I am not sure which rear they are using but the CS6 has an 8.8 rearend so it must be possible. But I have no idea how you would go about swapping them out.

Default RE: take off rear axle...?

According to Jason at Hillbank the rear ends on sale are 8.8 3.55 LSD units and they are the same rear end used on the CS6. The rear ends they have on sale are take offs from the cars Shelby built the GT-Hs from so they are standard GT units, but since they are 3.55s the base Mustang GTs and resulting Shelby GT-Hs must have be manual transmission cars I've ask about the drive shaft compatibility in a couple of other places and I ask the people at Powerhouse, so when I get an answer I'll post it here.
