so about how many times can you "glaze" the clutch before its junked?

I think our clutches are not gonna hold up. I've driven lots of manual cars and none of them made that burned clutch smell like ours do. Got it stuck one time and had to play with the clutch and parking brake to get out - smoke actually came out of the hood from the clutch getting fried. I'll count myself lucky if it makes it to 60k.

I havn't done that to mine yet... I've reved a little high and lifted off the clutch slow but never smelt anything bad or had smoke come out. I'm still looking for a performance clutch for our cars but I can't find one.

No, I think they will.
Look at Fazm. 30K+ miles, many of which were at the track, and his clutch is still fine for daily driving.

I did that hundreds of time on My old Honda Civic (steep parking ramp 50+ degrees) and the clutch never wore out 180k++ until the car got totalled.

Alot of times i do wish i had a manual. But on cases like these im glad i dont. Ohhhh yes automatic is my friend
