I bet the prius would still take your stang off the line, they make pretty sick torque down low. The engine makes something like 80lbs of tq up high while the electric motor makes like 295lbs down low. Id have to look up it to be sure though.

I was still unable to smoke tires off start in Prius so the Torque that max out at 1500rpm probably disappears around 2000rpm and its back to 80lb of tq and I am soooooo afraid............ Ok, I'll try to race one on my bicycle but it might be close.
By the way, my minivan makes 210hp and weight is 4300pounds (tq is 230). With 5 passengers and loaded trunk thats 5300lb so 25.23lb per hp, Prius should beat me.

Where is he at!!! Ive got an old rusted out 71 Mercury Colony Park Wagon I'll race him in!!!! Hell I'll have my 9 friends in it and keep the air on...lol

It's only got a 429cid 4bbl in it...

An electric motor makes instant torque (or damn near close), unlike a gas engine. There is no power curve. Apply voltage, it's spinning. I don't thinka prius is a concern, but that new lexus hybrid sure would be. Apples and oranges, until the motor turns on.

Electric motor can only help at certain RPM and thats probably 1500 range. Not sure if it is usefull above that. Let me think. Well, if the motor maxes out at 1500rpm but the motor works at 3000rpm, possibly electric motor can still assist but the tq will decrease significantly.
