It was a sunny afternoon here in Cali and I pulled up to a light on a fairly wide 3 lane road. As I looked over to my left I noticed a burgandy Prius. The driver looked at me and put the left hand on top of steering wheel like he was about to race so I steped on gas and held the brake pedal. Light turned Green and we both took off simultaneously (spell). Trans switched to second at 25mph and we are head to head, 2-3rd around 50/55 and he is actually pulling away from me slightly but I had to let off gas since my wife pounded my shoulder and the other 3 passengers started to complain..............:-( +1 for Prius....... Oh yeh, did I mention that I was racing in my 2001 Honda minivan with 5 passengers and loaded back? Oh well, maybe next time I'll be in my Stang and can race in reverse :-)

I got some "friends" who are hot about the Priuses and always brag how great they are. I hate them personaly. They are cramped inside, underpowered and overpriced. Did you know if we get rid of all the cars/buses in USA the impact on environment will be very minimal. I still don't get Hybrid ovners who purchase cars with 5-10K mark up and don't even use carpool lanes. What a waste of money.

I bet the prius would still take your stang off the line, they make pretty sick torque down low. The engine makes something like 80lbs of tq up high while the electric motor makes like 295lbs down low. Id have to look up it to be sure though.
