Default Was gold a color option in 2005?

I'm looking at a 2005 v6 auto, traction control, with 10,000 miles on the dealers used lot. The color on it is gold - I know that's not an option now, but was it in 2005? Dealer just wants the sale, he'll say anything! It's not the lime gold, b/c there's no green tint to it at all. It looks good on it, but I'm a bit leary if it was repainted for some reason. Thanks!

Any chance it was Mineral Grey? Sometimes looks very gold in the right light.....

Also, check the paint code on the tag inside the drivers door. See what color it is supposed to be. You are looking for a two letter code, i.e. TK, AB, etc. Then compare with what it should be.......

Repainted cars are not 100% repainted... look under the dash on the drivers side... what color do you see? Look under the hood, all around the engine bay, what do you see? Inside doors... inside trunk...... you'll be able to tell if it is a repaint. But, if it looks like absolute gold, it is not stock.

No, this one is quite a bit lighter than that. Thanks for the tip on the paint codes, I'll look at that tonight - is there a place online I can check that? Sounds like I may have to spring for CarFax and make sure it hasn't been in a wreck or something. Thanks again!

I've never heard of any gold for 05. That would be tuff though if some ordered it and wanted it custom painted gold. That would be cool, not any gold mustangs around here that I've seen.

There is no such thing as Lime Gold Metallic on a 2005 Mustang. The Green is called Legend Lime Metallic (see pictures below). This same shade of Green was used on the late 60's models and refered to as Lime Gold Metallic, but never on the 2005's. However, there is really no gold tint to it at all. Legend lime is definatly not what Maverick22 is talking about.
