RE: subs from stock deck
yea you can run it from the stock deck. You gotta buy this one piece...i have it on my car and i'm running from the stock head unit..i'll check tmrw what its called. I didn't even run anything to the head unit #1 AND I didn't have to drill through my firewall. I hooked this piece that allows the sub into the wires that i spliced on the back speakers. It runs through there. Hits just as hard as normal. I'll get you that information tmrw, oh yeah and if you're in a hurry, any car audio store will tell you what to get.

What you need is a Line Output Converter. It allows you to tap into the rear speakers and convert that signal into RCA to run to your amp. I have this in my 06 Stampede Edition and it works great. The one I have has a gain adjuster for both left and right channels so you can lower the gain from the high level speaker lines to reduce distortion to the rca low level lines for the amp.
You should be able to get it from any car parts store or somewhere like Circuit City where I got mine. This is what I did to get it running: I bought some line taps to tap into the speaker lines without splicing at the wierd angle and ran some speaker line in the upper chamber of the trunk where you have the crossbar with all of the holes. Then I connected those lines to the LOC and used foam tape to attach that to an out of the way place in the trunk. Then its just a matter of running the RCA line to your amp.
I'll take some pics so you can see just what I did.

with a Line Output Converter you can go as big as you want. I have 2 1200w amps running off of the signal from mine. The signal has nothing to do with wattage. BUT the type of line out converter will vary. You need to make sure you get one that handles the wattage from the headunit so it can convert the signal without too much noise. But aside from that I seriously doubt you could find an amp that would suck up too much signal power.
