Default So, about that popping noise.....

I read about a popping noise that was accuring from
the front of some of the S197 stangs something about
a TSB and I had the same thing happening so I went to
ford today, but I have 36,400 miles on the Stang, and I
don't have extended warranty. My question is, is this
something that requires you to have a warranty, or is it
something Ford is required to fix on all Mustangs with the
same problem?

Thanks for the help guys!

If it is not specifically labeled a "recall", then it is not a required fix. TSB's are primarily to help service techs with some commonly re-occuring problems.

There are a couple of TSB's that I think should be recall material, but so far, for '05 and up, I am unaware of any actual recalls.

Please correct me anyone if I am a bit off on this explanation. [8D]

Yeah TSB is just like a symptom --> diagnosis thing for the tech guys. It's just there to speed the process up and get you out the door. So you'd have to pay for that if you're out of warranty. Unless you're in really good with the dealership and they want to hook you up. Sometimes if you're *just* outside the warranty like you are (by 400 miles), I've heard of people getting away with it.

Only other way of getting it for free would be if it's a recall, and you would definitely know if it was, because those are a big deal. Plus Ford would probably send you a letter saying so.
