Just a quick question, why not spend a little more and swap the rearend for the GT's 8.8" it's an easy replacement in fact I did a quick search on car-parts.com and came up with several 8.8s either in the 3.21 or 3.55 for well under $1,000

for the same price a true trac and a TA girdle will handel the same abuse as an 8.8 thats been built up

all you need for a break in is 3 heat cycles

also even wiht 4.10s you will still get 20+ mpg

if you do alot of hard launches and are a 5 speed, i would look at the true trac instead of the tlok

If you like to drive 80 MPH on the highway then get 3.73's. I have 4.10's and I rev about 3000 on the highway at 80 and it sucks. I'm actually going to upgrade to 28" tires from top to bottom to take off about 200 RPM's which will make it only a little higher than having 3.73's. Everything will fit in the stock housing but they'll probably have to get some new shims and so on and so forth. They will also have to callibrate your speedometer.

always get a bering kit and 3k isnt that bad, the s197s motors are happy reving they will be fine, the old 3.8s and crappy 4R70W trannys were fine with 4.10s and still got 22+

What gear ratio would be best for an automatic trans? 3.73 still? I really don't want to go with 4.10's, I think that might be a little steep for the highway. Don't you?
