Tips on MRT Axle back install?
I'm about to buy the MRT axle back muffler and have read that it is a pretty easy install.
I'm just wondering if there are any extra tips from those that have already done it?
I don't have any ramps, so I will just be crawling under the car to do it. My biggest concern is getting the stock muffler off. I noticed at least one bracket that doesn't look like it will just slide off. I'll try and post a pic of what I'm referring to when the sun comes out. Thanks!

Be prepared for quit a bit of bolts and I think there was like 4 hangers that needed unbolted plus two bolts in the rear that you absolutely need a wrench for. I used a rachet but wouldn't advise it lol! I did mine from the floor without any problems what-so-ever. The weight of the muffler might take you by suprise because it is pretty heavy compared to the MRT

RE: Tips on MRT Axle back install?
I got one of these back in July, had a local muffler shop put it on for $30, and while they did a good enough job, it had a tendency to bang when I went over a bump. I talked to MRT and they told me the mid-pipe needed to be rotated so there is more clearance over the axle. I finally tackled this a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately I ended up taking the muffler off completely. It's not overly difficult, just time consuming. I also have issues with it aligning perfectly with the bumper exhaust notch, but it's not touching. This is important, make sure it doesn't touch, otherwise you'll melt your bumper. :-)
There are 3 hangers holding the factory one in place, one of which you won't need afterward, the MRT holds on with 2 hangers. I think you'll need a 15 mm socket/wrench if I recall correctly...

I put mine on in about 30 minutes. I did put the car on jack stands at the rear. It was easy exept for wrestling with getting off the stocker. You will only need to use 2 of the 3 hangers. I took mine off cause it was a bit too loud and mine is for sale. Other tha that I dd like the muffler.

spray wd-40 on all the nuts on the hangers and the clamp about half an hour before you do this. mine were so rediculously hard to get off, then i sprayed some wd-40 and let it sit for a bit. they pretty much slid off after that. you will love the sound more and more as it breaks in, mine has gotten MUCH deeper and smoother. have fun with it!

I was thinking about getting the same thing...So, the sound does get better as you break it in?? I heard a sound clip and it sounded horrible... kinda ricey too... I'm thinking duals for the look and MRT for the pocket book. Dunno for sure yet what to buy... it's so hard to choose unless you hear it and know what sound you're looking for...I want as deep of a sound as I can get with minimal drone...

it is actually deeper in person though, and it is VERY loud.
