Default New member here, some questions

New member here, just bought a 2005 V6 black Mustang, bone stock... I'm not familiar with cars but now that I have one I'm interested in I will probably do all sorts of mods to it. Anyways, I have some questions to some of you who know more about this than I do. I'm not looking for performance gains, don't really care about that... just appearance/sound... what can I do that will add the most bang for the buck? I've read that an H-pipe with GT take-offs will sound pretty good? I'm also looking to add some black wheels to it, white stripes, maybe a hood scoop somewhere in there, what do you guys think?

Welcome to MF! Hope you like it here.

I have a single GT take-off muffler, and love the sound. Others have their own opinion about various mufflers, but the GT take-off(s) is/are cheap on eBay and though other outlets. It's a great place to start.

Cheers!

I think an H-pipe with GT-Take offs would sound great.. just depends on taste.
I went for a single GT Take-Off first.. Easy to install. Plus.. when I bought the exhaust, the sent me the left and right muffler ($80 with shipping).
This way if I want to go to dual exhaust.. I already have the other side.
I really like the way the take-off sounds.. loud when i want it to be.. but not too obnoxious.
There a thread talking about exhaust which includes sound clips.

As for the other mods you mention... check some of the sponsors for this site.. there are lots of little things you can do for relatively low cost.

Enjoy!

One of my biggest problems is that I want to install all of this stuff by myself (exhaust system etc.) but I just don't know how to do it. I hate paying the high price of labor around here (Rhode Island)... I see some tutorials on this site I think I might have a better idea but I don't have most of the tools/lift to do anything.
