Default racing a 96 gt

im racing my friends brothers 96 gt at lunch today. he only has a short throw mod wise. his car is in really good condition because he takes good care of it and such, so it should be a good race. he was talking crap about me getting a six last weekend so i said lets race. i'll let you guys know how it goes, possibly take videos if my camera is in my car. (it might be)

Good luck. I'm afraid his short throw will do more for him than your axle back does for you.

Out drive him. [8D]

My money is on you 8cd03...i used to own a 96 Gt and it was very very slow....even if your car is pretty much stock...you should be able to take him. Remember to empty the grass collection bag and lower the tire pressure on those Type Rs.. he should be seeing the back of your lawnmower in no time. Good Luck

well i raced him three times...

i won 2 out of 3 .

the first one was from a 10ish roll because the light turned green before we were ready and didnt want to back up traffic, so he honked three times. it was pretty flustered, but i took him up to about 85 by about half a car.
the second time we went from a light up to about 75 and i lost. i was at about the back of his door so it was about a half car. i was starting to reel him in a bit tho.
third run, we went to about 90. this time i beat him front bumper to back bumper.

over all they were VERY close races. he took me off the line almost every time, but it seems like our top end is a bit better. i think the automatic would have a little bit of a problem with one of these judging off of how well one of my friends in his auto does against me, but he is on the stock traction t/a's and can't launch as hard. altogether, this was definately a drivers race, so if you are going to race one, make sure you bring your "A" game.

after the race his v6's suck mentality kinda changed lol. first thing he says to me, "wow how much does that axle back actually do" and i said "haha not enough to make a big difference." and he responds, "how much did you pay for that car?"

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...........score one for the 4.0.

Nice dude, cool to know that it is a close race for the 4.0L's verses the 90's 4.6L's so its a drivers race. Now i kind of want this one dude that has a 97 GT to race me, he drives around town tryin to flaunt his GT when he sees me. Even if he beat it he isnt really modded except exterior so it would be close pry -- Good lookin

Very nice kill! I've been wanting to race this 98 GT in my town too.....
He flaunts his GT around as well, even though all he has done to it is
exhaust and "clear tailights" LOL and a sound system..........but he just
acts all upity about it, but I haven't actually ran into him on the hwy
at least not going the same direction......

Anyways, nice kill man. Keep on scoring for the 4.0!!!
