I ment sitting in your car with it in drive and the breaks pressed in all the way so you DONT MOVE, so your just idling there and slowly turn the wheel left and right.

Nope, not turning the wheel at all. But it does do it whether I am in drive with breaks completely applied or sitting in park.

I had this in a car a long long time ago and it turned out it was my flywheel was cracked. This was when the car is in drive and foot is on the brake.

Upon further review....

The sounds DOES occur when I turn the steering wheel while in N and/or P, as well as when in drive, foot on the brake, and NOT turning the steering wheel.

if you have andything with your heating / airconditoner/fan whatever on its your compressor. All of us have to live with this annoying sound. If not then go get it checked out

hmm i think i may kjnow what it is, but not exaclty. if u open the hood, on the drivers side right behind the air intake, there like a little thing that moves back and forth and thats probably the noise ur hearing. its perfectly normal bc i have heard it to under all driving conditions. i think its soomething with the engine. just pop open ur hood and look around for when the sound comes.
