Trade-In Value?
Was wondering if you guys knew what I could trade mine in for. Its a:
2006 Mustang 4.0 V6 5 speed
Pony Package
Black Leather interior
Shaker 500
Interior Upgrade package
GT appearance package
and I know mods have no value, but
Roush quarter window louvers
Xenon Hood scoop
17% window tint all around
Any idea what I could trade this in for? Looking to upgrade to a GT

Try www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com and you can enter in the information and they will do an immediate report for you for your location.

Those sights are usually way high, especially since used cars are way undervalued now because of the low interest rates on new cars. Your best bet is to post this question in the 4.6L specific thread or the 2005+ general thread. Give your general geographic location and maybe you can get some real world examples.

Well from what ive seen some dealerships wont even get you close to the return in parts value you add to the car so i dont know how much you could get.
My advice, try posting it on autotrader or something and add in the value of the parts to get a more fair price then go buy the GT instead of taking a loss on the trade.

RE: Trade-In Value?
i just got a trade in apprasail from a chevy and a mazda dealer and a ford dealer (just to see if there was any bias) my car is equipped very close to yours and i was offered 11,000 at GM, 13,500 at mazda, and a killer 12,000 at ford. Even tho KBB says my car is worth 17,900. Theyre discounting brand new ones so much these days u cant get anything for a used one. Sell outright

Ya they try to give ya 3-4k less then you can privately sell them to make a bigger profit. Im surprised the ford dealer was that low though, from my experiences usually they are the highest out of the dealerships i go too. -- sell it yourself bank some more then trading in.

RE: Trade-In Value?
I did that with my Ford 2005 Ford Five Hundred. Had to have a Mustang. Lost A LOT of money trading it in. But I felt like an old man in the 500.
With that said, I kind of wonder why you want to go to a GT. Its a 4.6 liter, you're only gaining .6 of a liter. I know it has more power. BUT> the insurance is way higher, mileage lower. Do what you want. I don't mind my V6 at all. With my mods I'm happy with just enough power and lower costs. Same great looks anyways. My two cents.

RE: Trade-In Value?
A dealer in my area has a 2006 leftover GT that listed for $28,200 on sale for $21,000.... that's like invoice price, minus the $2,500 in rebates, minus another $1,500. Geez. So what is a used V6 worth? Not much.
You would be much better off keeping it till next year if you are looking for best trade-in price. But you have to remember, you trade-in value is low because prices are down. What's better? Buying a GT for $23,000 and getting $13,000 for yours, or waiting till the market heats up and get $17,000 for yours and pay $27,000 for GT ?
Same diff....

Best bet....
If you owe more than the value... Get gap insurance and "do" something to it. Just enough for it to be considered totalled. But, don't send it to the junk yard. Remove the parts and sell them. If not, sell it to the highest bidder.
If you're car is paid for then just reck it and get insurance money. I think they will pay you more than what you would get for a trade in. Then sell the parts!

.... then get caught for insurance fraud and go to jail. Not to mention it's just plain WRONG.
And after they total it, you don't get to keep it.... somebody else gets it and sells the parts. You would have to buy it back to sell the parts.
