Default Warranty service

I picked up my Mustang last night. What a blast!

However, on the way home I stoped in a parking lot in order to read the manual and test out the features. I have the active Anti-theft option with no additional aftermarket add-ons. I locked the door to go into the store for something to drink, when I came back out and unlocked the car I could not get the drivers side door to open. The little indicator would seem to pop up when I hit the unlock button but every time I pulled on the door handle the indicator would drop back down. I was able to get into the car by going through the passenger side and opening the drivers-side door from the inside.

My question is this; Is there some sort of security feature that is causing this or am I sending my car back in for warranty service before I hit 100 miles? I cannot find anything in the manual about any feature like this.

Welcome to the group! I don't think it should do that. If you have an 07 it may be something new if all else fails just go back to the dealer.

Yeah, I'm thinking that too. Soo far I have only had that problem once on this car. But thinking back i seem to recall having a similar problem with an old 914. I believe that the fix was to adjust something inside the handle assembly. Should be an easy fix for Ford assuming that I dont have to prove that there is a problem.

Acrokat,
I've seen this happen if the door doesn't completely lock. Like the lock is halfway down. If this happens again you should be able to select the lock and then unlock an it will unlock.

UPDATE:

I had this problem happen to me 3 additional times, including twice yesterday, so back it went. The Dealer just called me to tell me they fixed the problem by replacing the latch. I get to pick it up after work today.

Is there anything else that my dealer could look at concerning the 07 v6 stangs?
