Default Granatelli Single 70MM Throttle Body??

Has anyone "upgraded" to the Granatelli Single 70MM Throttle Body? I'm looking at doing some performance mods for Christmas and thought this might be a good upgrade, but want to hear more from users, rather than just the advertising hype. Also, whose got this for the lowest $$$

If it matters I've already got a cold air system and cutom tune.

Thanks,

mark h

From what I've read on the forums about TB replacements you would get more bang for your buck by replacing the muffler with a less restrictive one. It would also compliment your existing CAI for a better overall performance gain.

My TB is stock, but I concur; very few satisfied customers of ANY upgraded TB.

I've heard that the gains you get from it aren't worth the money. I don't know from experience but I've heard that around on the forum.

I believe the reason that the 70mm TB shows no advantage over the 65 is because the intake valves are not big enough to flow more air than the TB at WOT.

It really boils down to preference. I've heard that throttle response can be better with the 70mm even with the minimal HP gains. And even though there are better gains for your buck the 350-450 price tag won't break too many budgets. If you're looking for Max HP and going to upgrade just about everything anyways, eventually the TB will need to be changed for that few extra ponies at the dyno. Plus there's bragging rights. You've only count what you've got under the hood and 265HP is more than 260HP and parts made by Italian guys are still cool. I would take a look at your current list of aftermarket parts and your budget then ask where the biggest gains for you are. I personally opted to upgrade to my Shaker 500 to an in dash double din CD/DVD player with satelite radio and a twelve disc changer instead of the added HP of dual exhust setup and even though its not faster, I still enjoy the ride a little more.
